Optical transmission equipment manufacturers Optelian recently launched MPX-9XXX series of two transmission platform for its 100Gbps new muxponder product.

MPX-9105 is 1RU size, support 100G metro / regional applications, compared to the previously announced MPX-9110 has a low initial cost advantage. Like with the MPX-9110, MPX-9105 supports 10/40 / 100Gbps traffic on a single wavelength.

MPX-9102 multiservice muxponder support network edge, CPE and data center applications and other areas. The product also 1RU size, supports up to 10 10G client interface.

Optelian's MPX series also has an integrated performance monitoring capabilities to support common communication channel in-band remote network management.

Optelian company CEO David Weymouth said their 100G series products for metro and regional deployments optimized. Low cost, small size, low power consumption, easy to deploy these features further reduce the network operator's capex and opex. Telecom operators, data center service providers, enterprise network users alike will get a fast return on investment on these products.
