PTN packet transport product is designed, its main features is reflected in the following areas: flexible scheduling networking capability, multi-service transport capabilities, comprehensive carrier-class security, carrier-class OAM capabilities, with business sense and end service provisioning management capacity, low cost per bit transmitted.

To achieve these goals, combined with the demand for applications that may arise, need to focus, the ability to support TDM services and packet clock synchronization, interoperability problems.

TDM services support methods
In support of TDM services on the current general use PWE3 (Pseudo Wire Emulation Edge-to-Edge) approach, the current TDM PWE3 support unstructured and structured modes, encapsulation format support MPLS format.

Packet clock synchronization
Packet clock synchronization requirements of 3G and other packet services for networking objective needs, clock synchronization including time synchronization, frequency synchronization categories. On implementation, there are mainly the following three: Synchronous Ethernet, TOP (Timing Over Packet) mode, IEEE1588V2.

Interoperability problems
PTN is a packet bearer from the transport point of view put forward solutions. Technology revolution, the network can only evolve. Network operators are now huge MSTP network, MSTP node has been extended to all corners of the local metro. PTN network must consider interoperability with existing network of MSTP. Interworking include service interworking, network management official exchange two aspects.

From the commercial point of view at present, given the standard, industry maturity, critical problem solving schedule problems, various manufacturers in standard products though have invested a lot of energy, but in general, to introduce solutions and mature products business, not much actual commercial.
